Hello again from Australia! The team is now a week into their project and they are doing great. Every morning we get to wake up and do devotions while watching the sunrise and the kangaroos graze as close as 50 feet away! God’s creations are incredible. Each day the team is reminded how blessed they are to live here on planet earth and to be a part of the will of God. For the past week, the team has been working on a myriad of projects around the Teen Missions Base here in Australia. One group has been working on clearing the brush all the way along the fence line that surrounds the property. Another group has removed an old side walk and are now setting up the frame for a new one to be poured. The missionary here is building a new chapel and the team has had a few opportunities to work on that as well by building some of the walls as well as placing the first truss on the building. Last but not least, a group has been working tirelessly to scrape the old paint off of two big water basins to prep them for fresh paint. Although the team is tired from the work at the end of every day, they continue to have great attitudes and a hard work ethic. On Saturday, the team worked for the first half of the day. Then after lunch, the BMW (Bible, Missionary, and Work Training) students took the team on a hike up to the top of mount Timbeerwah here in Tewantin. It was about an hour and a half up to the top, but the view was incredible. The weather here has been a very nice change from the hot muggy Florida. Overnight the temperatures drop down in the upper 30’s and during the day rise to the 70’s. It has rained every day since we have been here but it has been very light rain.
Today (Sunday) the team got to go to a local church called Cooroy Community Baptist Church. They had the opportunity to share a presentation during the service including a few songs, a skit, and testimonies by Dillon Melvin, and Clair Andrus. After the service, the church served the entire team a meal, and let me tell you, it was a feast!! We were blessed with the opportunity to meet and share with other believers. If all goes as planned, the team will have the opportunity to share at Noosa Church of Christ’s Kids Ministry next Sunday.
We are continually looking forward to what God has prepared in advance for us to do. While the team is staying healthy so far, we ask for continued prayer that God will continue to guard our team from any sicknesses that might prevent the team from working. We also ask for pray for spiritual growth amongst the team members. As leaders, it is exciting to see God work in the lives of your teens. Our prayer for each of them is that they leave this summer in a closer walk with the Lord than when they came and I believe that that is already happening. Thank you and God Bless!
